Bill Clough

Non-Executive Chairman

In 1984, Bill Clough joined his family’s engineering construction company, Clough Engineering Group as business development manager. Bill was appointed to the Clough Limited board as a non-executive director from 1994 until 2002. Clough Limited was listed on the ASX in 1998.

In Brazil, Bill founded Colomi Iron in 2003, in the state of Bahia, securing a dominant position in the area with a potential world class resource in excess of 5 billion tonnes of magnetite deposit. Also in Brazil, Bill founded and was the former Chairman of Mirabela Nickel, listed on the ASX and TSX and former CEO and founder of Serabi Gold plc listed on the AIM and TSX.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Geology Degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree from the University of Western Australia.

Bill was founder of Twinza Oil Limited in 2004 and is Non-Executive Chairman.


Huw Evans

Managing Director

Huw Evans was a founder of Twinza Oil Limited and was appointed Managing Director in June 2012.

Huw has over 36 years’ experience in petroleum exploration and production in the Asia-Pacific oil and gas industry, including 5 years field mapping in the PNG Highlands, 3 years with Petromer Trend, 6 years with Premier Oil, 4 years as a director of Deltaic Energy, and 5 years with Coastal Energy. Huw was a key member of the Premier Oil Singapore team which successfully built their core business in the Far East. This included significant gas projects in Indonesia and Burma. More recently Huw has been the technical manager for all of NuCoastal Thailand’s exploration and development projects including all the development planning for NuCoastal’s offshore oil fields (Songkhla and Bua Ban).

Huw has a broad range of expertise, having undertaken roles as VP Exploration, Business Development Manager and Operations Manager overseeing asset building and project management throughout the Asia-Pacific region and also in Europe, North Africa and South America. He has experience of the full cycle of upstream E&P from Government and Contract Negotiations, through bid round evaluation and Joint Venture, Exploration, Operations and Development Management.

Huw holds a Bachelor of Geology (Hons) Degree from Keele University in England.


Adrian Atkins

Finance Director & Company Secretary

Adrian Atkins is a Chartered Accountant who has extensive experience in accounting, finance and management having worked for 4 years in the accounting profession and subsequently in a number of public and private companies with interests in mortgage origination, property development, wholesale distribution of car tyres, waste and recycling, and in the hospitality industry.

Adrian holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Over the last 14 years he has focused on mining exploration and oil and gas exploration notably with Twinza Oil Limited since its incorporation in 2004.

Adrian is a Non-Executive Director, Finance Director and Company Secretary of Twinza Oil Limited.


Ivor Orchard

Non-Executive Director

Ivor Orchard has over 30 years of energy and natural resources experience spanning private equity, investment banking and management in the oil and gas industry.

He is Co-Founder and current Executive Chairman of Kerogen Capital Ltd and was formally Co-Chairman of Ancora Capital, the manager of the team’s predecessor fund. Prior to this, Ivor spend 20 years in energy and natural resources investment banking principally at J.P. Morgan where he was Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Group in Asia Pacific; and previously as a director at CS First Boston in Australia and New Zealand. Ivor also spend 10 years with the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, where he served (among other positions) as Managing Director of the Shell Companies in Korea and Deputy Treasurer (Head of Corporate and Project Finance) of Shell UK Ltd.

Ivor holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics and Law from Cambridge University in England and is a Barrister-at-Law of England and Wales.

Ivor is a member of the Boards of Cuadrilla, New Age and Twinza Oil Limited.


Julian Ball

Non-Executive Director

Julian Ball is the Head of the Investment and Portfolio Management Team of Kerogen Capital Ltd with responsibility for the investment and portfolio management functions.

He has more than 25 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Prior to joining Kerogen, Julian was a senior member of J.P. Morgan Private Capital Asia, a principal investments team, where he was responsible for managing the fund’s operations and leading and monitoring investments. Previously he was a Managing Director of Ritchie Capital Management (Asia). Prior to this, he was at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong, where he advised on M&A and capital raisings primarily in the energy and natural resources sector, and also headed the Financial Restructuring Advisory practice.

Julian holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales where he holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Julian is a member of the Boards of AJ Lucas and Twinza Oil Limited.


Steve Puckett

Non-Executive Director

Steve is a senior oil industry executive with 40 years in the oil business and over 25 years in Asia. With Mobil Corporation in the 1980’s and 90’s he was responsible for a restructuring initiative within its $5 billion business in Japan, responsible for its $1 billion business re-entry into China and was a founding VP of its LNG & Power business in Asia, while also having responsibilities for its China E&P business. He was formally responsible for Asia regional supply and trading operations.

Steve has extensive experience in energy and finance, and has advised international and national oil companies, financial institutions and global professional services groups, in the areas of strategy development and acquisitions.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle in the UK, is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow and former Chair of the Institution of Chemical Engineers in Singapore and is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers. He is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors, a member of the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors and was awarded the OBE for contributions to UK business in Asia.

Steve is Lead Independent and Non-Executive Director of Twinza with responsibilities for governance, corporate development and commercialisation issues.


Leonard Tao

Alternate Director to Mr Orchard and Mr Ball

Leonard Tao is a Director in the Investment and Portfolio Management Team and leads the Valuation Committee at Kerogen Capital Ltd. He spent 10 years in the Energy and Natural Resources Group at J.P. Morgan, initially in Australia and subsequently in Hong Kong. He managed a wide range of M&A and capital markets transactions in the natural resources sector across numerous geographies, including Asia, Central Asia, Latin America and Africa. During his tenure at J.P. Morgan, he was responsible for J.P. Morgan’s Oil and Gas sector coverage in Asia, with a focus on advising Asia NOCs in relation to their international acquisition strategies.

Leonard graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia with double Bachelor Degrees in Commerce and Engineering.


Stephen Quantrill

Alternate Director to Mr Clough and Mr A Atkins

Stephen Quantrill is Executive Chairman of McRae Investments Pty Ltd, the diversified investment holding company founded by Harold Clough in 1965. He is a professional engineer with over 20 years’ experience in multifaceted roles in business ownership, company chairmanship and directorship, and his experience as a business leader, shareholder and advisor has encompassed energy and natural resource companies, financial and engineering services, and the private equity arena. He currently acts as Chairman and Company Director of a range of businesses, including in private equity, real estate property, oil and gas, bio-technology, advisory and engineering.

Stephen is a Fellow of FINSIA, a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of Engineers Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) Degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Cape Town, all awarded with first class honours.
